Mary Elizabeth Talbott, age 12 of Maryville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in her bed at home just before 5:00am on Saturday February 8th, 2025, after a brief but valiant battle with stomach cancer. Mary was a boxer mix born in Blount County, Tennessee in June of 2012 who found her human, Zac Talbott, in the fall of 2012 after he agreed to dog sit her over the weekend for a former co-worker. She never left her dad’s side from that weekend until she passed away in bed with him and her two canine sisters, Laylah (Sharpull Terrier) and Mocha (Shih Tzu), on February 8th. In December of 2013, when she was a year and a half old, Mary’s dad met Chip Fuller, and Mary quickly accepted Chip as her second human and member of her pack, which included Sugar (Shih Tzu) and Winston (beagle basset), her canine brother and sister who preceded her in death on December 4th, 2016, and April 26th, 2018, respectively. With her second dad Chip also came four human siblings: Jeremiah Rodney (then age 14), Sarah LeAnn (then age 13), Micah Alan (then age 8), and Noah Cleaston (then age 4). After nearly 10 years of waiting, Mary was ecstatic when Chip and Zac finally got married in their hometown of Maryville, Tennessee on April 22, 2023. Along with her canine and human siblings, she attended her fathers’ wedding joyfully and was happy both of her dads finally made public the love she had known them to share for nearly a decade. Mary did her duty as pack alpha lovingly and often had greater patience with her canine Mary, Winston, & Sugar Mary Elizabeth Talbott Chip & Zac with Mary, Mocha, & Laylah Wedding Day at RT Lodge and human siblings than her dads. She never showed signs of aggression to any humans or other animals, and her sweet spirit and loving mannerisms sparked conversations with numerous family members and friends over the years. Mary was a most special lady whose passing leaves her dads with palpable voids previously filled by her unconditional love and gentleness. On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, Mary Elizabeth will be laid to rest along with the cremated remains of Sugar (Shih Tzu) and Winston (beagle basset), her canine brother and sister who preceded her in death during her family’s time in Georgia, at 1:00pm at Grandview Pet Cemetery, following a brief service with her family and friends.
